In 2019, I experienced one of the proudest moments of my journey as an immigrant and culinary enthusiast: I was invited by the Framingham Library to contribute a recipe to their special cookbook. I felt honored, as a student, to represent not only my story but also the vibrant culture of Brazil.
The recipe I shared was the beloved Salmon in Passion Fruit Sauce—a dish that became a hit with everyone who tried it. Introducing Americans to the tropical flavors of Brazil was an incredible experience, and the recipe’s success reaffirmed how food can beautifully bridge cultures and bring people together.
